Do Not Let Anyone Despise Your Youth

God recently laid it in my heart to write this.  I have realized that what most people don’t know is that the purpose of God for a man is beyond his age or education. Purpose was created for man before man existed in the realm of time, which means whatsoever God has called you to be and do, is not tied to your age. Many today have not come to the full manifestation of their potentials because their youth is being despised by them or others.

Why is it ok and normal for young men and women to go all out doing the things of the world, but when they do ministry and really serve God it is frowned at? Why is it ok to release a circular music or feature in a circular movie at a young age, but being a pastor or on fire for God at that same age seem like you don’t know where you are going?  The society today believes that to command the things of God you must be old. Who says you are too young to pursue purpose? That is the lie of the devil to stop young people from launching out early in life, finding purpose and fulfilling it. After all he is the god of the world and would like for young people to spend their youths living outside purpose. I often tell myself I am not of this world I am only in this world to change it and bring light to it. Jesus did it at a young age; I don’t need gray hairs to do the same. I have all it takes to be a change maker at a young age.

Someone recently asked me if I was a youth or fellowship pastor because I said I was a pastor, and he said and I quote ‘’Aren’t you too young to be a real pastor’’ I guess what he meant to say was that I was too young to be Pastoring people older than me , so it had to be youth or a school fellowship. Here is the question? Is the realness of my calling based on my age? Is the call of God only on those that are old? Did Jeremiah step out in fulfilling purpose base on age, oh what about David? Not to talk about Jesus and His many disciples, even Timothy and Titus pastored men older than them(1 Timothy 5:1-2). God has created you to be the light of the world, salt of the earth, and an example in all things, DON’T LET AGE STOP YOU!

Let no man despise thy youth; but be thou an example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity. (1 Timothy 4:12)

Perhaps people are telling you,  you can’t and shouldn’t pursue all that God has for you now because you are too young and inexperienced,  it’s time to tell them the God working in you is ageless and the author of experience. David looked young and inexperienced but God had prepared him for what was ahead (1 Samuel 17:34-39). The Holy Spirit gives everyman leverage irrespective of age, how much you yield to Him is what determines how early you will fulfill purpose.   Don’t get me wrong, I am not saying a 6 months old baby should jump all out there; there is a process and preparation phase for every purpose. I am saying discern the times and seasons in your life and that shouldn’t be done by age.

Psalms 144:12 says ‘’That our sons may be as plants grown up in their youth; that our daughters may be as corner stones, polished after the similitude of a palace’’ Your youth is a time to grow and flourish in purpose, a time where you are polished and ready for all  God has made you for. God wants you to catch your visions early so you can run with them with strength. Don’t waste time pursuing flying dreams when you can walk in God’s will for your life.

Don’t let anyone despise your youth, if they think you are too young for God to use you, then they are too old to get blessed by you.  Jesus was younger than the man who was crippled for 38 years, yet He carried the grace and anointing to heal him. Imagine if His youth had been despised.

It’s not by age but by grace! Keep doing exploits; let no one despise your youth!!

We are super glad to pray for you and there’s absolutely nothing the devil can do to stop God’s plan for your lives.

The characteristic of being selfless is one of the most important traits any Christian can have. It’s so significant that Jesus said it is the second most important of all God’s commandments: “You shall love your neighbor as yourself” (Mark 12:31; cf. Galatians 5:14). Jesus wasn’t creating a new law here; He was merely agreeing with and expounding on an Old Testament law (Leviticus 19:18). James calls this the “royal” law to emphasize its supreme value to God (James 2:8).

Why are we doing this?

  • We don’t do anything out of the spirit of God. We do as his spirit leads us to.
  • One trait that is needed on our Christian walk of faith is selflessness. Sometimes we worry about ourselves and our wants rather than wanting to give others our time and our help, but this should not be. We must have empathy for others and put ourselves in someone else’s shoes. The only thing this selfish world cares about is what is in it for me? We don’t need a reason to serve and help others we just do and we do it expecting nothing in return.
  • As believers we must be a reflection of Jesus. Selflessness results in sacrificing for others, forgiving others, making peace with others, and having more love for others.

How to partake?  It’s pretty simple

  • You can be a part by joining us daily as we post our prayer points on our facebook or instagram (Kikelomo & Yetunde) page.
  • You can send in your own or someone else’s prayer requests via kompletewoman14@gmail.com.

Quotes

  • True love is selfless. It is prepared to sacrifice.
  • You don’t need a reason to help people.
  • Praying for others in your brokenness is a selfless act of love.

Meditation

  1.  1 Corinthians 13:4-7 Love is patient, love is kind, it is not envious. Love does not brag, it is not puffed up. It is not rude, it is not self-serving, it is not easily angered or resentful. It is not glad about injustice, but rejoices in the truth. It bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.
  2.  Romans 12:10 Be kindly affectioned one to another with brotherly love; in honour preferring one another;
  3.  Mark 12:31 The second most important command is this:‘Love your neighbor the same as you love yourself. These two commands are the most important.”
  4. 1 Peter 3:8 To sum up, all of you be harmonious, sympathetic, brotherly, kindhearted, and humble in spirit.
  5. John 3:30 He must become greater and greater, and I must become less and less.
  6. Matthew 6:10 Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.
  7. Galatians 2:20 I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.

Purpose Series: God , Purpose and Passion by Barnabas Oyebamiji

I want to start this write-up by telling you my discovery about people’s response to my articles. I found out subtly using feedback mechanism that most people find it difficult to stop reading my articles till they are done reading, so I embarked on a journey to discover why they do not drop my articles and guess what I found out as the reason? People do not drop my write-ups because they are curious, they want to find out what I have to talk about, they want to know what exactly is the point I am trying to make, simply put, they want to discover the PURPOSE of my article or should I say, what is on my mind when I took the pen.

Don’t let’s get carried away with that because this particular article isn’t entirely too talk about why people read my articles but on what happened to my thoughts on a particular evening. Let me share with you.

It began as a single thought while I was fixated on the most unexpected matter for meditation, a thought that began because while I was sitting outside my house on this particular evening for fresh air. I sat with my face up and my legs stretched over a relaxing table in a crossed pattern, with my eyes fixed on the sky. Then as if by revelation, I saw that hey, everywhere was bright! I subconsciously began to scan around for the source of this light and I ended up staring at the moon, it was the moon that was giving out light (smiles-can you imagine?).  The moon was shining so bright that I could see the lines of my fingers.

This discovery changed my thought pattern; I by default fixed my thought on the moon. I began to ask myself childish questions like is ‘why is the moon so bright, what is the moon doing up there’? …and other questions along this line.

So I decided to focus on the most reliable book of history ever known to man to have the most accurate facts, I remember what was on the first page, how that the creator created the whole universe, I got to that point where it talked about the moon, I wanted to know what the creator had in mind when he was creating the moon

And God(the creator) made two great lights; the greater light (the sun) to rule the day, and the lesser light (the moon) to rule the night: he made the stars also. Genesis 1:16

I saw that in the mind of the one who created the moon, the moon was to give light (rule) in the night. I mean to say that it became clear to me that the moon shining so bright to the point where I could see the lines on my palms is a normal thing, the moon was living up to expectation, the moon was living out what was in the mind of the creator when creating him. Simply put, the moon was fulfilling purpose!

Then with an unimaginable speed, my mind jumped from thinking about the moon to focusing on man, I began to think about what was on the mind of the creator when creating man (have you ever thought of that?). I had to go back to the most remarkable book in history again because that is the only trustworthy documentation there is. I saw that the creator created a garden and then created man and placed man in the garden he had created to maintain it. Maybe you didn’t get my explanation, I discover that the first man that was created wasn’t just created by the creator for creating sake, rather, the creator had a reason, the created man is to stay in the garden and take charge of all that was created. And the LORD God took the man, and put him into the Garden of Eden to dress it and to keep it. Genesis 2:15

Later, the creator saw that the workload was too much for the man alone, so He created an help-meet(fit) for him(the man)

And the LORD God said, It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him an help meet for him. And out of the ground the LORD God formed every beast of the field, and every fowl of the air; and brought them unto Adam to see what he would call them: and whatsoever Adam called every living creature, that was the name thereof. And Adam gave names to all cattle, and to the fowl of the air, and to every beast of the field; but for Adam there was not found an help meet for him. And the LORD God caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam, and he slept: and he took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh instead thereof; And the rib, which the LORD God had taken from man, made he a woman, and brought her unto the man. Genesis 2:18-21.

Simply put, the assignment was too much for Adam to too alone, therefore, an helper became a necessity. This was followed by a thorough search for an helper and when no suitable helper was found, the creator had to create another creature of the same kind as the man that will be the help meet for him. I mean to say that the woman wasn’t created for creation sake but for a particular purpose.

  • Let us bring this down to a comprehensible bit,
  • no creator creates anything without a purpose in mind
  • the purpose of a thing is the reason for which that thing is created
  • no creature can no its value until it fully understand its assignment
  • you as a creature cannot understand your assignment until you know your creator

By now, it should be obvious to you that you are created for a particular purpose, you need to begin to soak in this truth! You are not a waste of resources, there is an assignment on the face of the wrath that necessitated your creation and you MUST carry out that assignment. I know situations and circumstances and the things you have gone through in time past have made it seems as though you are a useless nobody, but I want to tell you with all assurance that you are really precious to your creator…in fact, you are more precious than you know you are and that is why you need to go back to your source because you see, every creature is a representative of it source and until you know your source, you cannot represent properly. And that is why when you go further in the book of history, you get to a portion where the greatest and wisest man of his generation concluded his discovery about creation by saying ‘Remember now thy Creator in the days of thy youth, while the evil days come not, nor the years draw nigh, when thou shalt say, I have no pleasure in them’. Ecclesiastics 12:1

It would be greatly unfair If I do not mention how I ended my meditations, I asked myself a simple question which was “is it possible not to fulfill your purpose after you have known all this”? and my quick answer was YES. But then, I began to ponder on why it could be so, I came up with a lot of reasons why people fail to fulfill their purpose but in the long run, I observed from history that there is only one underlining reason why people do not end up fulfilling their purpose and that is A LACK OF PASSION! Yes, it sounds simple but that is the mother of all purpose slayers. Show me a man passionate about fulfilling his purpose and I will give to you an unstoppable purposeful achiever. You see, a passionate man is too attracted to his purpose to be distracted by any distractions. The truth is that distractions will always come to a man on the path of purpose, but what will keep me going is a resolute passion. Passion will get you to places where distractions are impossible. You will become too attracted to your purpose to the point where distractions are going to see you and fear. In fact, the resources to fulfill purpose flows in the path of passion.  By definition, I define passion as the boiling point of love. Your love for your purpose is so high and always at its boiling point that it melts away challenges.

I will talk more about this in my next write up on the September 14 on purpose and challenges. How to fulfill purpose in the face of challenges

Walk in Confidence.

Hello everyone, I’m super excited about this write-up not because of the topic but because I can get to write after a long hiatus. It’s almost unbelievable, but I’m so happy God is giving me another opportunity to share his word, to share my inspiration, to speak to someone out there about their confidence. And my deep prayer is at the end of these write-up, may we all become so confident of ourselves in Jesus Christ.

So over time if there is anything that has been a struggle in my life, it’s been confident of myself. From my excerpts from “Why you act the way you do by Tim Lahaye”, I’ve got the Sanguine traits, the talkative lively kind of person. But then from childhood, I’ve always had to struggle with inferiority complex. In the past years while growing up, I’ve always asked myself why I’ve had this issues and one of the big answers I got is because of the fear of the unknown. “we all have fears of which this is true”. We will all have to confront fear from time to time in our daily lives. Fear of the society thoughts about us, fear of fulfilling  our purpose, fear of not being loved and so on. All these are going to be addressed in this write-up.

There is always a point in our lives we just feel a kind of emptiness and loneliness that ends up getting us depressed. We want to live for people’s acceptance, but we forget we may eventually die by their rejection because when the north accepts you, don’t be shocked the south will reject you. This is the point I would say we need God, I mean need him more than ever before. Without further ado, Let’s go deep into few sample questions: How do we overcome fear? How do we deal with uncertainties? How do we become more confident in ourselves?

What is confidence? My own simple term is confidence is when you have the courage to overcome your fears. It is when your faith is activated. It is faith taking a bold step against fear. Confidence is taking courage when you feel afraid. It is not having fears but doing what’s necessary when afraid. The devil has his ways of bringing us down – he reminds us of our pasts, reminds us of the present telling you those things you’re yet to achieve in life, and then reminds us of the future. Even though we know those scriptures like John 10: 10 which says: The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.

He’ll still want to instill those fears in you. That moment you quote all the scriptures about God’s promises over your life but then you still end up in a broken state. I’ve been there a whole lot of times. But we should always realize we don’t have to be upset with God because if we can’t handle those challenges/fears, then he wouldn’t bring it our way. We should also bear in mind we can end up being miserable if we try to impress everybody. Most of us try to do this with people – we want their acceptance, we want them to jeer us up, etc and the moment they reject us, we feel probably sad or depressed. How about we come up with words like “I’ve done my best and if you ain’t impressed, How about you take it up to God”. If we all decide to do this, I think the world will be a lot sweeter and better, we just have to come to the point to take the pressure off ourselves. We are not free until “we are free of the need to impress people”.

Don’t get dressed for two hours because you want to impress the world – get dress for Jesus. Look at the mirror and say “Lord, I want to look good for you“. At this point, when someone says something negative, you look at them with a broad smile and say – It’s for Jesus. The feelings that follow is that feeling of satisfaction. Even God will look at you and say “Go Girl”.

– Confidence speaks out the God factor in you without any struggle.

– Confidence always looks forward and backward.

– Confidence always has hope because it’s positive.

– Confidence looks up and not down.

– Confidence maximizes strength. Why do we get so concerned about our weaknesses when the scripture says “His strength is made perfect in our weakness”. That weakness is there to give God the room to keep working in our lives. Even if it’s one strength you got, step out of the boat and maximize the strength in God’s glory. Romans 12: 6-8. Not using these gifts is like disrespecting it.

– Confidence gathers the right people. You don’t want to be around people who keep telling you what’s wrong with you. You got to be with those ones who sees God’s glory in your life and encourage you to keep at it.

Now, let’s talk about the secrets of a confident woman:

  • A confident woman knows that she is loved (Ephesians 3:17) => Everybody wants unconditional love, we want friends that knows our weaknesses and accepts us for who we are forgetting we ain’t gonna see that kind of love anywhere. We forget everything we need in life is from God. Yes, absolutely everything. His word says “His divine power has given us everything we need for a godly life through our knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness.” 2 Peter 1:3. God is the only true definition of Love. I don’t write to please people so if this is offensive, you got no choice to manipulate my opinion. I say this from my personal experience. God loves you, the love of God is the healing balm for everything we do in life. His love is not conditional, he is not a man who hates us and rejects us for our wrong doings. He hates sin, but he still deals with it in our lives. And so therefore, you got to know that you know that God loves you and he’ll never stop loving you no matter what you do. Isaiah 49: 15 says -“Can a mother forget the baby at her breast and have no compassion on the child she has borne? Though she may forget, I will not forget you! So feel loved with your complexion, stature, scars, etc. Being loved let you be confident to step out boldly, talk boldly, try new things, and explore the world God has given us. Our troubles, storms, challenges shouldn’t determine God’s love for us. Be rooted in his Love, nothing else should never ever take the love of God from us.
  • A confident woman refuses to live in fear (Hebrews 10:38) => Anytime I’m about to try something new, I must confess I’m always scared and a lot of people feel that same way but the difference between a confident woman and a non-confident is that boldness to face your fears and get over it. The moment we get over it, it takes us a step higher than a non-confident woman. Fear of being loved, fear of failure, fear of being mocked – all this has stopped us a way in getting closer to our dreams. If you fail, try again. Never let fear rule your life.
  • A confident woman has a positive attitude => At this point, I remember a time I had some issues at my workplace twice. The first time, I was all shaky and allowed the devil fill my head with negative thoughts but the second time. I said No, I spoke to myself about how special I am to God. With tears, I spoke to myself and said –  Oh girl, you got a bright future in God. I started declaring positive things into my life. I said God, you’re taking me to a high place, just let your will be done. This is because I drowned myself in his word and kept reminding myself about the power in his word.  Confidence and negativity are like oil and water, they just can’t mix. Being negative is a choice and not a feeling. The power to be happy lies in your hands. You can listen to sermons and tapes, read the bible, read every inspirational book, seek a counselor but NOBODY got the power to make you positive except you. It might be a struggle for you, but only you got that choice. You can tell a close friend that any time you hear me say negative things – confront me and shoot it out of my head. Put up signs all over your house and workplace that says BE POSITIVE.
  • A confident woman recovers from setbacks => She refuses to live in pity. Setbacks are not failures, they are meant to make us stronger and begin again. Did you lose your job? Did you get a heart break? Tell yourself I’m doing this again, don’t let people come around and fill a bucket with their tears. I had an accident some years ago that got me some scars and then some people would be like awwww, it disfigured my legs or something and even offered advise of a plastic surgery but I said NO, This is a temporal body, my reign with christ gives me a brand new body. After all, this body will decay. From the hospital bed, I didn’t give up on my dreams of going to the university – I went to the jamb hall, lot of eyes were on me but I didn’t let it bother me. Here I am today – The apple of God’s eyes.         You see, you just have to come to that point that you fill every cell of your body with positive thoughts. You glorify God with his scriptures and personalize it into your life. Avoid words like “I can’t”, “I’m not up to it”, etc. I dare you to be so positive that you drive the NEGATIVE PEOPLE AROUND YOU CRAZY. Look into the mirror every day, give a broad smile to yourself, call your name and declare the positive things of God into your life. Say words like “I can do this”, “I’m a woman of God”, “Through him, it’s possible”. Nobody else got that except you dear.
  • A confident woman avoids comparisons: The bible says thou shall not covet. Don’t want their house, their talent, their car. He has made you unique and you got that freedom when you know who you are in christ. You’re gifted, you got grace that covers you. The moment you try to do things you aren’t called for – the moment your joy decreases. It’s just like a 5 years old boy who wants to carry a gallon of water that only an adult can carry. He’ll end up not happy and maybe even cry at his first attempt to lift it. This is what happens when we compare ourselves to others and want to live their lives according to their standards. It makes us live a lie that displeases our soul. Stop wanting what somebody else has.           Oh, I’m meant to be promoted, I want that contract. STOP IT. If it was meant for you, God will give you. Stop living in miseries because of your comparisons. It leads you into sin. Because of this attitude, some of us have been doing things God is not protecting. Then, we end up lamenting God doesn’t love us. We should realize the devil sometimes use this to distract us from God’s purpose for our lives. He won’t put his feet into what he hasn’t called you to do. Follow your own dreams and vision. In the process of doing what God wants you to do, you’ll drive those people you want to impress crazy.
  • A confident woman takes action: She takes initiative, she’s aggressive and not passive. Stop talking about the problem, bring a solution about the problem. Don’t be a problem, Be a solution.
  • A confident woman does not live in “if only” and “what if”. Examples like: –
  1. If only I wasn’t abused.
  2. If only I had more education.
  3. If only I wasn’t from a broken home
  4. If only I had more money.
  5. If only I wasn’t single.
  6. If only I had more friends.
  7. If only I have someone to help me – God is the helper dear.

It’s time you rise up and be that person God wants you to be. He’s got an exciting future you. Rise above your fears, Rise above your doubts. Step out of your comfortable zone. It’s time to stop waiting for something else – a prophesy, a word, one more angel, one more confirmation. It’s time to start fulfilling purpose and doing what God wants you to be. Remain #Komplete in Christ. Have a lovely weekend.

Obedience of Love

Hello everyone, I trust that we have been doing excellently well.  As earlier said we will try to put up some teachings here more often, at least once a week.  Today I would like to talk about something God has been taking time to teach me personally, he is not done doing that. I can never be done wanting to know too.

love

Moving on…..Now Let’s do a very short study on ‘Obedience’ well not just that but ‘The Obedience of Love’.

Love !  Deep right? Perhaps one of the most common words used today.  An average person probably uses the word love at least once a day, either saying ‘I love you’ or ‘I love that’, whether wrongly or rightly. Well that said, majority of the world look to the encyclopedia or to Wikipedia to define what love is …some say love is affection….some say love is a flighty emotion…some even say it is connected to the butterfly feelings in your tummy…Well I say what the bible has taught me; Love is God, and God is Love!

Let me shock or not shock you by saying this, An unbeliever is incapable of Agape ( God Kind of Love) in anyway, yea to answer your unvoiced question they are capable of showing affections, many mistake this for love, but anything outside Agape is conditional!!!

NO SALVATION, NO AGAPE. Forgive me when I say I am in no way apologetic about saying that, not to mince words. Love (Agape) is a nature imparted to believers at the point of salvation Romans 5:5, by the Holy Spirit God put in us the very ability to Love, and since God is Love that equally means he imparted to us what made God…God.  Remember last week we talked about bearing fruit unto good works, well God planted in us the very seed of love to increase in it therefore and bear more fruits of it. Simply put love is the evidential fragrance in us that we carry as ambassadors of Christ; it is our visible and physical tattoo to the world that indeed we are sons of God. Let’s quickly see what Love is and what love is not……

Love is….Love is not

I will just share something I wrote some years ago to give you a picture of what Love is and is not.

You see, Love is more than just a flighty emotion it’s a pure feeling independent of nothing

God defined Love on the cross of Calvary having no distinction for Gender, Race or Age

He didn’t care about our money or beauty in that while we were yet sinners Christ died for us.

You see his love is neither limited nor demanding but rather flawless and bedazzling

What the world calls love is nothing compared to what it is

Love is God and God is Love.

We agree that God is love and love is God. Why then do we love some and hate some?

Why do we smile with no love in our hearts? We get busy buying those expensive shoes

While our neighbor is right there fighting starvation then we go ahead and laugh at his thin shaped chest

and how he caught a sexually transmitted disease. Yet we cry out, about how we love God and love men tricking ourselves into believing the concept of loving only the givers and despising the takers.

But you know what? God has a greater definition of love.  It includes Me, You and that hopeless child on the street. Yet we love only those who can love us back. Who are you to decide who to hate or love?

This is the picture I am trying to paint: Love is God, Love takes God… Only God! Every other thing secondary to it can never be enough. Love is not conditional or choosy! Love is what God says it is. Love from man’s point of view is shallow but Love from God’s point of view is perfect and complete.

Personally few years ago, I felt empty and lonely, I kept filling my heart with all sorts of people and things that I felt could make me feel loved, but each one came and I still felt empty. People came and left…Things lingered and faded….But when I had a love encounter with God, I never remained the same, it slapped me out of the Coma of emptiness, pulled me out of the depth of loneliness, threw me to the height of blessedness.

That’s what Love is and can do!

Obedience of Love

A farmer who plants a seed knows the principle of watering and timing before he can harvest. Not doing this is simply anti-farming or simply disobeying the principles that make farming work. Well, let me say this obedience is never apart from love just like watering is never apart from planting. They go hand in hand.

What is Obedience? In the biblical context obedience is a submissive hearkening to the will of God.

The will of God is revealed in his word (written or spoken) by his spirit. God and his word are not apart. God is love. So let me put that in a simple formula:

Obedience to God = Obedience to His word= Obedience to Love

Submissive hearkening to God’s Will=Submissive hearkening to His word= Submissive hearkening to love

It is impossible to love God without obeying him and it is impossible to be obedient to God without loving him. Grace Knits the two together.( John 14:21-24, John 2:3-5)

Obedience is a demonstration of love!! Lets even look at our earthly relationship, when a husband tells the wife ‘Darling can you make toast as early as 5.00am tomorrow’, he expects to see it the next morning because he knows his wife loves him enough to do that, Not because it is convenient, Not because he put a reward to it but simply because she loves him. Obedience is how we show that we love. Rejecting the authority of the Holy Spirit (He who administers the very presence of God in us) is gravely disconnecting us from demonstrating the love of God.

What Obedience is…What Obedience is not

  • Obedience is a demonstration of love 2nd John 1:6
  • Obedience of love requires trust and action John 3:16
  • Obedience is submission to love and its hallmarks (Giving, Forgiveness, Sacrifice, and Service)
  • Obedience of love is obedience of faith because love powers faith. Galatians 5:6
  • Obedience is not a suggestion it is an instruction. Remember Love is an instruction and obedience and love are not apart. John 13:34
  • Obedience is acknowledgment of God’s Lordship  Luke 6:46
  • Obedience is not a forced, unwilling act. Not something you are forced to do because you are afraid of punishment. Christ is our prototype of obedience Philippians 2:8
  • Obedience is not legalism (Trying to please God by obeying our own set of rules) Matthew 15:2-3
  • Obedience is not a way to acceptance. We cannot make ourselves more acceptable to God because we obey him. Grace made us accepted in the beloved! Ephesians 1:6
  • Obedience is not a step to a reward but a reward itself Psalm 19.8. When we understand that God’s instruction is a great reward and not a burden, we will understand the place of obedience as been a reward.

Why do some fail to Obey despite Love?

Majority fail to obey despite the love of God being shed abroad in their heart due to lack of renewing their mind to the truth of God’s word. You cannot obey what you don’t know. We ought to stay in the word and constantly fellowship with the Holy Spirit. Until we have an experiential knowledge of God’s word and his love, we cannot come to the full measure of Who God is(Who we are) Ephesians 3:17-19.

I believe this blessed you. Watch out for our new series on Purpose from next Monday, till then keep standing perfect and Komplete in God’s will.
